As you may know, is that the end of the year is coming close. I have full confidence that you will be handed down to a great writer. It has been an awesome time writing for HCE for my last year at here. I know that the sports page will keep on getting better and better. I won't be able to edit this site over summer so it will not be updated. You can still get updated though, if you click on the Womans ESPN button. Thank you for listening in to my sports news-Ainsley
Carli Lloyd
Carli Lloyd is suspended for 2 games for excessive force. The New York Flash have lost a very important player. This happend in there game up against Chicago. This happened when she grabbed a player by the arm and pushed her down. While she was going down she swung around and struck the player in the face. She apologized to the player. She said that the problem was inexcusable. Hopefully she will be at the top of her game the next game she plays and won't be as aggresive.
Houston Dash
The Houston Dash didn't make the appearance that they wanted. The new team has a lot of good players but they were not as good as the Portland Thorns. We were on top of the game until around 20 minutes a ball slipped past our goal keeper. We kept on fighting for the game but we couldn't get up. We lost 1-0. The game was held in the Dynamos stadium with a whole lot of faithful fans. Through out the game fans kept there heads held high. I'm predicting next game that we will win.
Softball Power Houses
NCAA softball is definitely at its finest point right now. There having one thing that hasn't happened since 2005, a rematch. This is a very surprising thing to happen since they haven't done this in about 10 years. UCLA team is definitely making a statement by being number 1 in there bracket(which is the highest). Michigan also has something to look out for. Sierra Romero is fighting for the best player of the year. She has hit two homers in the last game and a double. She's pretty good and the rest of her team is good so I would suspect that Michigan is next in the top spot.
USA lost 1-0 up against Sweden
The USA woman's soccer team lost up against Sweden. This lost meant that swede broke their 43 game unbeaten record. Abby Wambach had a penalty shot but was saved by goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl. The Americans also played without Alex Morgan, she has a sideline ankle injury. Sweden scored off a cross that was headed into the goal past goalkeeper Hope Solo. By the looks of it USA is almost out of tournament. The game was definitely not there usual standard, hopefully things can be turned around.
Sloane Stephens
The big question is... will she soon be better than Serena Williams? Already with there big rivalry what will happen? Will she ever beat Serena? What if Sloane doesn't keep up? I hope she will. Sloane is such a young and strong athlete and she has a VERY good tennis style. Serena already doesn't like Sloane because Sloane has beat her. But what's the big deal? Serena just needs to get past that one person that beat her. Serena might fall off the wagon and Sloane might beat her at it. She's only what, 9th in the woman's tennis ranks. Sloane Stephens next matches will be on September 30 for the China open. There is going to be very good matches to watch.
Serena Williams
Serena Williams is a five time U.S. open champion. She is also the best woman's tennis player right now. Serena is counted as a old tennis player but she is still going strong. In this summer 2013 she won the U.S open for her 5th time! How crazy is that? With all her matches she crushed people. The only thing in Serena's way is a girl named Azarenka. She's in second place and she's fighting to replace Serena's spot. Serena's rivalry between Azarenka is even more bigger then hers and Sloane's. So who's going to keep up?
Hope Solo
Hope Solo is one of the greatest female sports players your going to ever find. She's a well known soccer player but you might not know who she was a few years ago. She's come through a trouble some past, but she's still sticking with it. As a young child she always wanted to be a female soccer player, even before it was even invented. At first she was the star forward but then things turned around. Her coach in high school said she had great footwork and was good enough to play goalie. At first her coach stuck in goal even when she didn't want to play as goalie. But things changed, she now loved to be back there making those amazing saves. A whole bunch of collages wanted Hope but she settled on Washington St. Her team wasn't the greatest but she still liked it. That's when she went into the Olympic training program for soccer players. There she met some stars like, Mia Hamm, Abby Wambach, and Alex Morgan. Most of the girls we're not very sure of Hope, But once she got on the Olympic soccer teams, a Whole lot of things changed. She was competing with the best of the best teams, like China and Brazil. After the olympics in Greece people knew she was out there to win. Times were always tough for Hope, like all of the Sunning her, also things like her coach kicking her off the team. But of coarse because she was so good she got back on the team. But she went through that and know look were she is, the number one women's goalie in the world. And she showed us all it takes is a little practice and sweat.
Abby Wambach
Abby Wambach is a two time Olympic gold medalist. You might know Abby for her amazing headers but Abby is more than just heading the ball.
Abby is one of the most talented forwards out there. She holds the all time record for international goals including both Male and Female. She's scored 161 goals! Abby Wambach was named the WUSA (Women's United Soccer Association) rookie of the year in 2012. Her team in the WUSA league was the Washington Freedom. Abby only stayed on the Washington freedom for about a year. After that in 2003 she played for the women's national team for the USA. In this year also she played in the world cup. Abby lead her team all the way until when they lost in the semifinals against Germany. After that in 2004 she played in the Olympics. She scored in the final game in the 112th minute off corner. She scored by a ten yard header! This goals is on of the most famous US goals. Abby then played again in 2007 for the FIFA women's world cup. But in the semifinals they lost 4-1. They got in third place in the world cup. She was picked to play in the 2008 Olympics, but in she broke her leg playing against Brazil in a pre game match. this meant that she couldn't play in the Olympics. The team was heartbroken. But the team lifted there heads and took home the gold medal. In 2011 Abby was selected to play in the women's FIFA world cup. In the quarter final they were up against Brazil. Abby scored a goal off her head in the 120th minute. She evened the score 2-2. the team was going into shoot outs. They won the game and they were off to the semifinals She scored one goal in that game winning 3-1. The team went to the finals against Japan. They lost 3-1. But in 2012 they went to the London Olympics. She scored there first goal in the first match she played. In her 3rd game she was running up field and got punched in the face, she ended the game with a black eye. At the end of the year in 2012 she was awarded FIFA world player of the year.

Who has the coolest women's national soccer jersey out of these three?
HUSKIES
You probably don't know who the UConn huskies are, but there the best ranked basketball team in college. They have won the NCAA division championships eight times, also have been to the final four spot 14 times. How about that? The team just last year won the division 1 championships. Do you think there going to win again?
Women's World Cup
The USA Women's National Team for soccer is already getting ready for the 2014 world cup. After playing a couple of friendly international games they know the are prepared based on statistics. After crushing Brazil 4-1 I have a feeling the team is going to do great but the only bad thing is there in Brazilian territory. The world cup is being held in Brazil. The Brazilian team will probably be at there highest point in soccer. Lets just hope that the our US team will win it all!
Lindsey Vonn
Will Lindsey Vonn be okay for the Winter Olympics? After a hard crash she might not be prepared. She also hurt her knee that just got surgery on. She was taken down the hill with a sled being rushed to a nearby hospital in Colorado. She fell while going down hill practicing for the Olympics. Hopefully her recovery will be quick.
Guess Who's Going to the Olympics?!?
Guess what, Lindsey Vonn is back from her horrible crash. She says that she might not be prepared because she hasn't really been able to get any practice in. Her first crash in February hurt her very badly by tearing two ligaments in her leg also breaking her right knee. Ouch! She's been getting better every day and feels confident that she can get back in the swing off things.
What???????
Wait, What? The women's basketball team from Baylor is having a surprisingly a good season. There record shows it, 7 wins and no losses. But there winning streak might end because they have a road block in the way. There going to play Kentucky next week. So the only question is, how are they going to do?
Taking Home the Title
The Bruins take home the title! UCLA took home there first NCAA women's soccer title. The team went into over time against Florida State. They were tied 1-1 and in the 97th minute they brushed by the title. They scored off a right cross by Megan Oyster, she put the cross right in the middle and Lavrusky slipped in her left foot in and buried it in the net. The team was in utter shock about winning. How about that?
Setting Records
Missy Franklin again gets higher in the ranks. After her great appearance at the Olympics people know that she is a go getter. She is now #3 in the world for women's swimming. She beat a persons record for the 200 yard freestyle. Looks like she is making a comeback.
Mikaela Shiffrin
How would you like to go to the Olympics when your only 18 years old! Mikaela Shiffrin is looking forward to it. She is one of the best ski racers you could find. After getting out of high school she feels like a whole another chapter of her life has opened up. She has really been focusing on technical things like her speed. After winning slalom globe, that's part of the world cup, she feels like she can do anything. The only question is, how is she going to do?
Uconn Huskies
The Uconn Huskies are undoubtable the best team in the the women's basketball ranks. But there hardest match up is about to come. There up against the 2nd best team in the ranks, Duke. The number one team up against the number two team is going to be an interesting match.
